Beat the Heat! How to Stay Fresh in Summer Heat

When you’re feeling hot, just curl your tongue up and take a deep breathe through your mouth and then exhale from through your nose. Do this ten times and you’ll feel much less overheated!

Brew a pot of peppermint tea and leave it in the fridge until it is nice and cool. Then, pour it into a spray bottle and voila, you’ve got yourself a nice minty mist. When spraying this on, you will feel much better and fresh, your skin will have a tiny tingly feeling which is what you will need in this heat!

If you don’t have an air conditioner but got a fan, just freeze a couple of water bottles and place them in front of the fan. And now you’ve got a DIY air conditioner!

Take a quick, cool shower frequently to keep fresh. I would advise (for the very hot days) to take one quick 2 minute shower in the morning and one at night. Just to rinse off all the sweat and dirt. But remember to not keep the water running for longer than you need!

If you put ice cold water in areas like your ankles, wrists, or behind the knees you will feel much cooler.

I know, I know; you’re thinking, “Why would you want to sweat more?!” But this does have a good explanation. It has the mentality of two negatives equals a positive. Eating spicy food encourages your body to sweat more while not raising your body temperature, and with sweating more will make you feel cooler after it dries. So get those spicy peppers and eat up!

Aloe Vera is used for a lot of things, and it isn’t surprising that you can use it to beat the heat, too! Look up recipes to make sprays, mists or drinks to help you cool down.

A very obvious answer to the question, but still needs to be mentioned. In the Summer, you sweat a lot and you lose a lot of water inside of you, so it is important to drink a lot of water and fill up!
