Crazes of 2016

2016 is coming to an end, and there are some memorable crazy trends we had to go through just like all the years before. These trends leave us in awe and wonder, how the hell did these things go viral? Let’s go over some stupid trends of 2016:

Dabgiphy (24).gif

Noted to resemble sneezing, the dab is a dance move that was originally created in sports when someone scored. However this became such a famous and annoying move, we have no idea why, but what we do know is that it sure is contagious.

Whipgiphy (25).gif

This swing dance went worldwide when the hit song “Watch me” by Silento came out. It’s impossible to hold the urge of the whip when you hear a catchy song with a catchy rhythm.

Bottle Flipgiphy (26).gif

The Bottle Flip went viral from multiple vines with a kid that flipped a water bottle at a talent show, and everyone went crazy over it. It’s hard to find a water bottle that hasn’t been flipped at one point or another these days.

Juju on That Beatgiphy (27).gif

Zay Hilfiger made an unexpected mainstream breakthrough when releasing the song and dance Juju on That Beat. Containing multiple original and simple moves for the audience to attempt.

Mannequin Challengegiphy (28).gif

Believed to have been started by some students in Florida, the phenomenon, is a viral internet challenge where people remain frozen usually to the song “Black Beatles.” It’s a very fun thing to do with friends, and not to mention, the end result is incredible!

Trump’s Coming Challengegiphy (29).gif

With all the election drama around the end of the year, people found a way to make it more entertaining. This challenge allows all the students to run around screaming at the top of their lungs.

Damn Danielgiphy (30).gif

Daniel’s internet fame started when his friend put together a number of Snapchat videos of him wearing his white vans. Whenever we see someone wearing white vans, or meet a guy named Daniel, we are very tempted to say “Damn Daniel.” This trend is also a great way to spread positivity, as it is basically complimenting someone repeatedly.

It’s been an interesting year, with more to come in 2017. Do you think another trend could rise in the last 2 weeks of 2016? Which crazy trends will we see in 2017? We will have to wait and see.
